Separate Beliefs
Religious beliefs differ between parents, or siblings, or spouse, or children.
How do we overcome these by abiding in the Lord?
Who’s job is it to change their hearts? 1 corinthians 3 (Apollos vs Paul vs God)
What then is our purpose in this? (Matthew 28:19-20)
Political/ideological/philosophical beliefs between the same above
How to not get involved with the idolatry or elevation of one idea over another?
Sticking to the word of God as our source of doctrine, and not a political candidate or philosophical position. (Phil 4:2-7) (1 Cor 6?)
When between a child and parents, or parents and a child, how to stay respectful, but honor God in obeying the truth? (eph. 5-6)
When between siblings, how to witness the truth without condemnation?
When between spouses, how to stay committed to the marriage, even when the other refuses to believe politically, or theologically what the other believes.
Separate Goals:
Parents for child, what they should become in life; Doctor, Lawyer, Military, etc
How they should go about living their life; marriage vs not, out with people vs inside, traveling vs staying at home, moving out vs continuing to live at home.
When other’s expectations for me do not match my own position, and it is not a Gospel centered point, how can I proceed without hurting or alienating others, but still walking in my own life? Managing expectations, and communicating those to others.
Do you really believe that God can do all these things in your life? Do you believe you can do these things in the way Jesus did?
