What did it look like with Adam and then Eve (Man and Woman) in the Garden?
Genesis 2
Dependence on God for everything.
Complete submission to His will and way for their lives.
Were they abiding in the way they lived? How so?
Who planted the trees and plants? Who brought the water from the ground? Who brought the rivers, the animals, man’s life, woman, fruit, everything? What did they have to do then?
When it comes to shame, why didn’t they feel shame in the garden?
Genesis 2:25
Shame is failing to accomplish something due to a lack of ability, skill, or resource.
Contrast that to the times I have felt shame, marriage dissolving, falling back on a promise, treating someone harshly only to realize I misjudged them,
What is the parallel between the Garden and the believer today?
The Garden found Adam and Eve living without sin and depending on God for everything. The modern Christian can take heart and see a parallel, not only to heaven but to their current situation. We get a glimpse of what heaven may be like, walking with God in the body, the new redeemed body (2 Corinthian 5). We also see that it is possible for individuals to depend on God fully for everything. We see that we have the opportunity to live without shame, when we depend on God to supply our every need, conversation, act, and desire.
